The plan for 2012 HCASC Pre-NCT Tournaments has changed. It is our goal to facilitate the HBCU hosts for these tournaments and to provide game play that enhances teams' preparedness for the 2012 NCT. Training and mentoring during the Pre-NCT Tournaments will enhance teams' understanding of the new format and facilitate their readiness for NCT play.
Seven Pre-NCT Tournaments will be held the same weekend (February 18 & 19, 2012).
Each Pre-NCT Tournament will have divisions of 5 teams each. Each division will play 10 round robin games. Each team will play all 4 competitors in their division (4 games each).
5-team tournaments will play in 1 room.
10-team tournaments will have 2 divisions playing in 2 rooms simultaneously.
15-team tournaments will have 3 divisions playing in 3 rooms simultaneously.
Each HBCU may:
Attend only 1 Pre-NCT Tournament.
Register only 1 team, but may request a slot for a "B-Team" if space permits.
Registration will be first-come, first-served and will close when all available slots at a tournament are filled.
Registration Procedures:
- To reserve a slot in a tournament, you must complete the Pre-NCT Step 1 form, making a commitment to attend the tournament and indicating how many (if any) persons in addition to the 4 players and 1 coach will attend (extra fees apply).
- Upon submission of the form you will receive a confirmation email. This email will serve as your acknowledgement of the slot and will serve as an invoice.
- You must pay the invoice (to the host HBCU) no later than January 15, 2012or your registration will be voided. On-site payments will not be permitted.
- No later than January 20, 2012, you must complete the Pre-NCT Step 2 form, identifying the players and others who will attend. Failure to name the team and other participants by the deadline may result in your pre-paid registration being voided.
